TRAINING MODULE DESCRIPTION: Incoterms 2010 and application profiles

COURSE AIMED AT : Export managers, foreign customer relations, transport and international trade operators, bankers;

COURSE LEVEL : Intermediate;

OBJECTIVES

Despite the wide use of Incoterms®, international trade operators still need to understand their issues and their operative implications. This module aims to provide people with the right technical skills useful to understand their ratio and to optimise their use, so as to minimise risks during international trade operations.

COURSE CONTENTS

- Definition and analysis of application fields of Incoterms;
- Evolution of Incoterms® from 1936 to 2010;
- Incoterms® and product containerization;
- General principles;
- Incoterms® and Documentary Credit
- Multimodal and maritime terms;
- Official norm sections;
- From EXW to DDP: accurate analysis of every single term;
- Analysis and Comments on Wall Chart Incoterms® 2010;
- Analysis and discussion of practical cases;
- Q&A Session.

TEACHING METHOD

Lectures with slides, flipchart, constant interaction among participants aimed at the contextualisation of concepts related to real-life company situations. Furthermore, the teacher will use learning techniques to engage with the participants during the learning process. Classes include the use of real business cases, simulations, role playing, business games and learning methods that encourage the analysis of real-life situations, recreating business problems and developing useful solution methods. In particular, participants are exposed to specific learning situations with the objective of putting into practice the competences they acquired.
